FreedomHill’s Mission

MISSION

The FreedomHill Cooperative is dedicated to creating an educational program that supports the needs and skills required of children in the 21st century and beyond. The primary mission of FreedomHill Cooperative is to provide a dynamic learning environment for students to explore and practice being experts at life so that initiative, learning, self-responsibility and self-actualization become life long habits.

FUNDAMENTAL OBJECTIVES FOR EACH CHILD

  • To develop and benefit from trusting personal relationships with adults and people of all ages and backgrounds.
  • To develop skills that keep pace with the current and future workplace such as self-direction, quick learning, flexibility, thoughtful cooperation, divergent thinking, initiative, leadership and critical thinking.
  • To think expansively about themselves and their place in the world
  • To develop a lifelong love of learning.
  • To learn to take on difficult challenges with confidence, achieve personal goals, and do what is needed so that they can lead meaningful lives with the meaning owned and determined by each individual.

FREEDOMHILL COOPERATIVES GOALS

  • To bridge the current gap in education that creates divisions between society, school and children.
  • To give the gift of independence.
  • To create a supportive and nurturing environment where children are free to “practice life”.
  • To immerse children in a community that mirrors that of American ideals of freedom, law-abiding citizenship, due process, individual enterprise, and equal voice in government.
  • To provide a natural setting where children can take time to explore and reconnect with nature through unstructured and self-directed play.
  • To provide a safe place for children to overcome limitations and negative assumptions so that they will reach their full potential and navigate life by their inner light and inner voice.
  • To obtain support and funding from within our local community to support The FreedomHill Cooperative’s expansion such as finding a permanent physical location.
  • To create a place of joy and purpose where children pursue their lifework and embrace their learning community.

Quiet Contemplation“Our goal is that a young person’s educational environment give them all the opportunities to experience life as they will one day know it”
