Tours

The Cooperative welcomes you for a tour of its facility and to see for yourself “freedom” and “democracy” in action.  Tours begin around 11:00 am and last about one and a half hours, which includes a 20 minute DVD about democratic education.  To sign up for a tour, please contact us.  Dates for 2009 – 2010 school year include October 23, Friday, December 11, Friday, February 26th.

Bring a Friend to CO-OP Days

If you have a friend or family member participating in The Freedom School Cooperative, please ask to come visit that day.  Children will experience first hand what it means to “be free”.  Dates for Bring  Friend Days are Friday, October 16th and Monday January 25th.

Jim will share his 25 plus years experience running a school that is based on 100 percent student-directed learning and democracy.  He will be available to discuss many examples of how this educational model plays out in practice and to answer any questions you may have about the practicalities of this alternative educational environment.

Spring Open House

Tuesday, April 13th, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm

Our spring open house starts with a brief introduction and discussion period followed by a brief video and tour of our facility.  All are welcome to visit our building and enjoy the natural surroundings, and meet the children, parents and other members of our community.
