Enrollment

Taking a Break
When a family is interested in joining the The FreedomHill Cooperative community it is essential that they develop a solid understanding of its educational philosophy and be willing to fully support their child in pursuing his or her own interests. The program has detailed and easily accessible resources to help guide families toward that understanding: start with the Resource Page on this website.
The FreedomHill Cooperative has an open admissions policy which means all applicants that are interested in self directed learning and in participating in a democratic community are accepted. Students are preferably at least five years old and able to demonstrate a certain amount of independence and responsibility. Very rarely younger students have been considered for admittance. The FreedomHill Cooperative also has a rolling admissions policy that allows families to enroll at any time during the school year as long as there are openings.
The FreedomHill Cooperative is committed to creating a diverse learning environment and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, national or ethnic origin. Every effort has been made to design a program that is affordable to people from many different economic backgrounds.
