Summer at The FreedomHill Cooperative is always fabulous and this year was no exception.  Activities included drama, crafts, painting, dance workshops, singing, hiking and time with many farm animals (ponies, goats, chickens and bunnies).  Swimming was also offered and the students really enjoyed our daily trip to the creek to swim in the swimming hole.

During the summer sessions various activities are organized but it is up to the individual student to choose what to participate in- that is something different compared to the rest of the year when students are completely in charge of organizing their time.

Summer sessions give families not currently members of The FreedomHill Cooperative a chance to experience “freedom” first hand.

The kids in the first week session worked together to create an amazing Variety Show that they performed at the end of the session.  The performance included a singing solo by one six year old, group chorus efforts singing Eric Clapton’s Tears in Heaven, pieces by one bass guitarist and one pianist, as well as several skits performed by many of the children together.

All of the scenery was designed and painted by the group as well.

Information regarding next year’s program at The FreedomHill Cooperative will be available early 2010.  Spaces are limited and fill up quickly!
